Born to a family of bakers and millers in a small Italian town, Davide came to America to pursue his dream of studying engineering at MIT. Fueled by ambitious dreams of developing world-changing technologies, he eventually realized that the Christian worldview learned from his beloved Catholic nuns in elementary school was the most important technology worth developing. Developing a proper “technology of the soul” also means that a professional journey cannot be separated from a faith journey. The two are inextricably intertwined.
The centerpiece of this talk is steeped in understanding the development and application of the words of St. Teresa of Avila: “Humility is the bread we must take at every meal” within the context of our growth.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Davide Marini is an engineer and entrepreneur with experience in taking new technologies from academic labs to commercial products, through often unpredictable paths. He is currently serving as cofounder and CEO at Inkbit Corporation, an MIT startup developing a novel additive manufacturing system enabled by machine vision. Prior to Inkbit, he served as co-founder and CEO at Firefly BioWorks, an MIT startup that developed and commercialized a new technology platform for performing multiplexed genomic and proteomic assays on microscopic and individually encoded hydrogel particles (now an Abcam company). Davide is passionate about creating new products at the intersection of engineering, biology and computer science..
